ROLAND InlineFoiler
Manroland’s InlineFoiler is a groundbreaking enhancement solution that meets market demands for more creative, more eye-catching and more vibrant print.
Using the InlineFoiler, printers can cold foil and overprint a full spectrum of colours inline on a broad range of substrates in a single pass and it can be combined with delicate embossing and effect or spot coatings or varnishes for maximum impact.
It is compatible with all presses in the ROLAND 700 B1 & 500 B2 series and can be used with conventional or UV inks, the InlineFoiler delivers exact print and foil registration, more precisely, more cost-effectively and quicker than any hot foil process available on the market.
Enhanced print means clear product differentiation for marketers and retailers and being a patented high value technology it offers a strong return on investment for printers.
- ‘Stand-out’ eye catching retail and POP solution
- Unlimited creativity in design
- Bold, superior finish
- Strong value VS cost ratio
- Durable, detailed effects
- Strong return on investment
- Print-length indexing for foil feed – significant cost savings
- Multicolour inline overprinting
- Conventional and UV inks
- Key differentiator against the competition
According to a survey of print buyers conducted by PrintCity and PRINTPlusX* more than 50 percent believed enhanced print increased the value of print by 10-30 percent.
Fifty-three percent of respondents also stated that they would expect a higher value consumer product to be associated with marketing collateral or packaging that had been foiled or coated.
ROLAND InlineColorPilot
Automatically detects and corrects inline even the slightest colour variation, saving makeready time and ensuring constant high printing quality over the entire run.
ColorPilot systems – the fastest, most efficient way to measure color
ColorPilot is the well-proven high end density and colorimetry measurement and control solution from Manroland Sheetfed.
Color measurement systems are vital to standardized printing processes. The faster they work, the more you save in time and cost. The ColorPilot family from Manroland Sheetfed offers you the fastest color management system available.
The ColorPilot product range is so efficient, the entire measuring process takes place in only a few seconds, measuring densitometrical and colorimetrical values in a single pass.
The sheet is fixed with a vacuum system which enables a secure fixation even of very thin and thick materials. Due to the tilt correction within the measuring head it is possible to use the smallest 4 mm control strips. Using high end materials (Zeiss spectal module, glass interference filters, metal components instead of plastic), the system is very robust, reliable and delivers highly precise measuring data. A separate module for densitometric and spectral measurement ensures a simultaneous and standard-conform measurement.
Measures and controls color – non-stop – without the need to pull sheets. This saves on time and waste and improves color stability offering complete documentation of the production run. Using a high-resolution CCD sensor, the InlineColorPilot measures the complete print control strip within three sheets. The RGB flash illumination corresponds with the color of the filters that are used for normal densitometrical measurements.
When Installed, on what is considered to be the world’s fastest large-format press, the InlineColorPilot consistently produces high-quality print. Benefits include reduced makeready times, reliable measurement, less waste sheets, lower energy costs, no ink-water balance disturbance and production run logging.
Depending on the different configurations required, the ColorPilot family includes ColorPilot and ColorPilot Smart versions to meet particular customer needs based on the appliciation. This proven ColorPilot technology from Manroland Sheet provides a unique solution tailored to the customer’s requirements but producing the same high quality end result. Manroland Sheetfed’s PrintServices consultant will provide the best solution for your applciation. Contact your local office for more details.
ROLAND InlineInspector
The sheet inspection system detects even the very smallest flaws and impurities on the sheet. Together with the ROLAND InlineSorter for spoil-free delivery piles.
As printing speeds increase, the challenge of keeping printing quality sheet by sheet at a constantly high level increases as well. The InlineInspector detects even the smallest hickeys, splashes, scratches, creases, streaks, scumming, or smearing just as reliably as it detects color deviations or substrate defects. Rejected sheets are marked and with the InlineSorter automatically removed.
A masking function already defined in prepress enables the inspection of specifically selected areas with different levels of sensitivity. Especially with packaging or folding cartons, certain non-relevant areas of the sheet can be excluded from defect detection.
This system compares the printed image with the customer’s specification contained in a PDF file. The function is very simple: after the PDF with the customer’s specification is loaded into the operating console, the reference sheet (OK sheet) is compared to the PDF. Variations between the PDF and reference sheet are displayed for the printer to decide whether to make changes or not. In the following production run, all sheets are compared with the reference sheet. PDF comparison thus provides an objective and easy to understand quality control from production start-up onwards.
